It's no real secret that Affiliate Marketing has to be one of the best ways anyone can make money online. For some people, they really do suck and fail at affiliate marketing and in this article, I am going to be discussing some of reasons why that may be.
Affiliate Marketing has attracted a huge following over the last few years with more and more people getting involved. There are those that have been doing it for years and are still doing it and for these people, there are very good reasons why they are still around after all these years.
This form of income generation has seen many people come and go and will continue to see more get involved and just as many people will leave just as quickly as they join. These people will have tried a few things and left as results were not what they expected or they were just too dam lazy to put in the time and effort.
Here a few reasons why people might suck and fail at affiliate marketing
#1 – High Expectations
They have seen the big earnings screen shots, they want a piece of that action, they want it now, Sorry to burst the bubble..it's not going to happen. If you really think that success is going to be handed on a plate for you, you are very much mistaken and you are in the right place when you decided to leave.
You have to take action..no matter what..you have to invest the time and effort into everything you do in this game.
# 2 – Mindset
Right off the bat, if you don't have the right mindset, you are definitely setting yourself up to fail. You can't just walk into affiliate Marketing thinking it's all a bed of roses. You have got to get in the right frame of mind and that includes being realistic. Please don't think that you are going to make money every time you publish a video on YouTube or post an article in Google because you will be very disappointed.
Look at every article as content for your site, look at every review post as adding content and authority to your site, look at every video the same way. Don't look at every piece of content as some money maker. Think content, think expansion and you will soon start bringing in income without even thinking about it.
# 3 – Build Your Base From The Start
So you want to be an affiliate? How are you going to proceed? Through a website?, video?, reviews? or all of these? Decide right now where your base will begin. Once you have decided, build, build and build some more. For you or anyone out there the compete with other affiliates, you have to build authority and trust. Forget making money and concentrate on getting content out to build authority to your base.
# 4 – If It Doesn't Work First Time, Try Again
I often get asked why review pages are not ranking in the first 10 seconds after they have been posted or why videos are not ranking on YouTube or Google within the first few minutes. Come on guys, be realistic. If you expect your videos or review pages to rank in the first few seconds and start making you money, you are seriously deluded.
Yes it is possible to rank a review page in minutes on Google ( i do it often ) and it is possible to rank a video on YouTube in minutes ( i do that often too ) but for many, there are many factors as to why some do and some don't and for most time, it's about authority. Go back to the base again and start building. It's a process that needs to be done and if you are not willing to do it, then the door to failure will always be open for you.
# 5 – Build Authority
Ok. so i have touched on this a little previously but i cannot stress this enough, you have to build authority whether it be to your website, your YouTube channel, it's a must. It's not as difficult as you think and with a few things in place..it can happen pretty quickly for you.
Build back links to your content, share it as much as you can, create quality content on a daily basis and post or schedule it on your website. Build authority through social media posting and following and so on. I post and schedule articles to run on my site virtually every day. I have over 650 videos on my YouTube channel, it's not really that difficult to start finding / producing content for your base platforms, it's what affiliate marketing is all about.
#6 – Not Taking Action
When I say not take action, I don't mean not doing anything at all, i simply mean listen, learn and implement. I see so many people asking a variety of questions regarding various issues and problems they have. The problem is, when these people are given good advice, they still don't take action on what they are being told.
I look at it like this. If you need to ask, then you have some kind of problem that needs a solution. If you are given a solution to the problem, then at least implement it. There is no logic behind asking for help and advice of those that know and then not taking that advice and acting on it. If that sounds like you, then you are not only wasting peoples time, you are also in the wrong business.
That just about comes to the end of this article. This is basically an article to get a few things off my chest. In all seriousness people, there is a big world out there and if you want to succeed online in affiliate marketing, it may come to the point where you have to make some serious changes in both the mental side of things and the physical side. You have to ask yourself, if any of the above apples to you, is this the reason why you suck and fail at affiliate marketing?
